Samantha and Phil Hay
Managing Partners
Sam and Phil have been married for many years and have also spent the better part of 20 years working together – this should tell you that they are both experts in the art of negotiation.
Samantha Hay
Managing Partner Sam predominately deals with sales and HR. She has a wealth of experience and a pragmatic and honest approach to life which she brings to all her business relationships. In her spare time, she can be found sea swimming in all weathers, at the gym or dancing and her pet peeve is humid weather which has a disastrous effect on her hair.
Phil Hay
Managing Partner Phil specialises in lettings and any technical/practical matters. He has wealth of experience in these fields and can always be relied on to solve a problem. He is an active member of the Rotary Club and loves getting out in all weather walking the family dog Bertie and can be found on the banks of a river fishing when time allows!
Emma Williams
Block Maintenance Manager
Emma is very experienced in the property industry, especially in the complicated work of Block Management. She says that you can never have enough coffee and her special skill is finding bargains.
Becky Butler
Lettings Manager Whether you are a tenant, landlord or contractor, Becky is the person you need to speak to! In her spare time you can find her running or dog walking and sometimes even tap dancing! She is the only person we know who warms a can of pop on the radiator.
Claire Vaccari
Office Administrator Claire is our admin whizz who makes everyone’s life easier. She is also a fabulous florist and you might spot her making someone’s wedding beautiful or teaching people how to make a Christmas Wreath. Her favourite musical instrument is the triangle.
Andrea Mason
Viewing Assistant With over 40 year’s experience in the property industry there is no one better to show you round a property or to reassure landlords and vendors. She is a stalwart of Scarborough’s charity community and can often be seen marshalling sponsored walks, selling tombola tickets or encouraging donations.
Abbie Petrie
Block Maintenance Administrator Abbie is Emma’s very able assistant in the Block Maintenance department. When she does have some spare time she likes true crime podcasts and heavy metal music – sometimes we have heard of the bands she listens to! Her favourite animal is the bat.
Colin Ellis
Senior Partner And not forgetting, Colin who started the ball rolling some 45 years ago. Spending a lot of his time walking grand dogs, ferrying grandchildren and golfing, Colin is always on hand to provide help and advice. Ellis Hay are proud to continue Colin’s legacy of straightforward and trustworthy business operations. There are few people, if any, with more knowledge and experience of the local property market.
